The ongoing five-match Test series between England and India is currently levelled at 1-1. While India won the second Test at Lord’s, the home team hit back in the third match and won the match by an innings and 76 runs. England skipper Joe Root has spoken about England’s chances of winning the series and said, keeping Virat Kohli quiet would be the main thing for his bowlers.
In the series so far, Virat has scored just one fifty and the home bowlers have been able to dismiss him early on. Root believes Virat Kohli is a world-class batsman and if they have stopped him from scoring runs, the bowling unit deserves all the praise.
“The credit needs to go to our bowling attack, Virat is a world-class player hence the credit needs to be given to the bowling group. We have been able to keep him quiet, it is an extremely good effort from our bowling group and it is something we have to continue if we have to win this series. We have found ways to get him out, he is a fine player and has done tremendous things in Test cricket, we will have to look at ways to get the best players out,” said Root in a virtual press conference.
