Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill are set to join Ahmedabad franchise for IPL 2022.

The Gujarat based team, which was bought last October by CVC Capital Partners (Irelia Company Pte Ltd), has also finalised its coaching staff. Ashish Nehra, Gary Kirsten and Vikram Solanki have been included in the support staff.

Ahmedabad and Lucknow, the two new teams in the IPL, will have to disclose the players they have signed by January 22. Both teams have a purse of 90 crore, which is similar to the eight existing franchises. However, unlike the other teams, Lucknow and Ahmedabad are allowed to sign three players with just one slot for the overseas player.

While the governing council of the league has set INR 15 crore, INR 11 crore and INR 7 crore for franchises retaining three players, ESPNcricinfo has reported that Ahmedabad have decided to pay 15 crore each to Hardik and Rashid. Gill will get 7 crore for his association with the new team. While Hardik and Rashid were not retained by Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively, Gill was released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of IPL 2022.
