All-rounder Hardik Pandya recently said he was selected as a batter and was not supposed to bowl in the T20 World Cup 2021 because of his fitness issues.
The all-rounder further added that while he did push himself to bowl, he didn’t get the desired outcome. Pandya had made these remarks while speaking to Boria Majumdar.
Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma was not impressed with Pandya’s immature statement. He believes the team management backed him for the global event despite being short on fitness.
“The selectors and team management backed him in the T20 World Cup 2021. Him coming out and saying what he said is not a mature statement. You should be thankful that they selected you for the big event,”
