India had a rough outing on Day 3 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton as they were bundled out for a paltry score of 217 runs.
However, the Kiwis got off to a good start in their first innings as Tom Latham (30) and Devon Conway (54) forged an important partnership of 70 runs for the opening wicket.
Notably, New Zealand were at 101/2, trailing by 116 runs when the bad light stopped the play on the third day of the match.
Harbhajan admitted that Indian batsmen failed to put a strong performance on Sunday, but he still feels that the team will bounce back.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, the 40-year-old wrote, “Team India had a bad day yesterday on the field. good thing is it’s past now..backing Team India to be at their best today to win all 3 sessions.. it is POSSIBLE.. do it boys @BCCI game on.”
On Day 3, Kyle Jamieson was the pick of New Zealand bowlers as he scalped five wickets while conceding just 31 runs.
It was Jamieson who got the better of India skipper Virat Kohli. The 32-year-old batsmen went back to the dugout without adding to his overnight score of 44 runs.
