Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who will be plying his trade for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2021, has arrived in India on Monday. Rahman was roped in by the Rajasthan-based franchise for Rs 1 crore in the IPL 2021 auction in Chennai.

After Rahman’s arrival, the Royals took to their official Twitter handle and shared the picture of the 25-year-old fast bowler showing a thumbs-up sign.

The caption of the photo reads, “Monday morning starts with a smile and a thumbs up from @Mustafiz90. #HallaBol #RoyalsFamily #IPL2021.”

Rahman will now have to serve the mandatory seven-day quarantine before joining the RR squad as per BCCI’s protocol. This means the Bangladesh cricketer will miss Rajasthan Royals’ first match against Punjab Kings on April 12 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

According to some reports, Rahman will also not feature in RR’s second game against the last year’s runners-up, Delhi Capitals, on April 15.

Mustafizur Rahman last played in the cash-rich league in 2018. In 24 IPL games so far, he has picked up 24 wickets at an economy rate of 7.51.

The much-awaited 14th edition of IPL is all set to get underway from April 9 with the opening encounter between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Mumbai.
