Glenn Maxwell, the Aussie star batsman, is not thinking of cutting down on shorter formats to prolong his Test career. The 32-year old player wants to win the upcoming T20 World Cup for his country.
“I don’t think you make a decision like that with such big tournaments around the corner. It’s a great thought in theory, but I don’t think that would be doing the right thing by anyone.

He has played just 7 Test matches for the kangaroos. With Australia due to play Test matches in India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, Maxwell is eyeing a return to the Test squad.
“It’s going to be hard to get any red-ball cricket (this summer), but I’ve said before when switching between formats that if you’re going well for your country, you can be the right man for the job. I’m still looking at those subcontinent tours next year to be a real possibility,” said Maxwell as quoted by cricket.com.au.
