After a long rough patch in international cricket, Virat Kohli finally hit a fifty. The legendary batter accumulated 59 off 44 balls in the team’s second Asia Cup 2022 match with Hong Kong.
But former India batter Gautam Gambhir feels Hong Kong is not the ideal opposition to judge Kohli’s knock, laced with one four and three sixes.
“Probably this is not the right opposition to judge Virat Kohli’s knock. But the runs were important as you have to contribute when you are out in the middle<” said Gautam Gambhir.
“I hope he scores runs in the remaining games of the Asia Cup 2022 because Hong Kong’s bowling lacked quality,” he added.
Gambhir lavished praise on Kohli for getting a good score as Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul failed at the Dubai International Stadium.
“A 60-run knock is a 60-run knock. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul also had opportunities, but they failed.”
