According to India Ahead News, Sourav Ganguly had prepared Show Cause Notice for Virat Kohli after the latter made sensational disclosure in the press conference. Before leaving for South Africa, Virat denied that Ganguly urged him to continue as a T20I skipper as claimed by the BCCI President.
Sourav was hurt as it had tarnished his image, and he wanted to take strict action against the 33-year old. “And the board president was all for issuing a show cause notice to Kohli,” a source said.
However, he was stopped by other members of the board. According to them, it could disturb the team’s performance in the Rainbow nation. The former skipper agreed.
Virat stepped down from Test captaincy after the series defeat against the Proteas.
