Former England captain Michael Vaughan has given a two-word verdict on Rohit Sharma replacing Virat Kohli as Test captain.

Rohit will lead India in the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. Taking to Twitter, Vaughan wrote, “Great choice”.

Virat had stepped down from his post after India’s defeat in South Africa. Rohit was the front runner as he was team’s designated vice-captain against the Proteas.

“Rohit Sharma is number one cricketer of our country and the most important thing is that he is playing all the three formats,” said Chetan.

The chief selector mentioned that Rohit will be given breaks to manage his workload.

“The most important thing is to manage Rohit’s workload. The players know their body and they manage their body.”

Chetan named three players who will be groomed as future captains.

“KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant will be groomed as future captains under Rohit Sharma.”
