India will be without senior players in a two-match Test series against New Zealand. While Virat Kohli is set to miss the first match in Kanpur, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been rested by the BCCI.

Meanwhile, Former New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Ian Smith is not happy with big players missing from the series. He wanted Virat and Rohit to play the Test series.

“India have left out Kohli and Sharma, it intrigues me actually that we’re resting people in Test cricket these days, that disappoints me greatly,” Smith told sen.com.au on Tuesday.

He also revealed his NZ’s playing XI for the series opener. “India have left out Kohli and Sharma, it intrigues me actually that we’re resting people in Test cricket these days, that disappoints me greatly,” Smith told sen.com.au on Tuesday.
