Former Aussie cricketers have been critical of Pat Cummins’ captaincy ever since England earned a hard fought draw in the fourth Ashes Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Shane Warne and Mark Waugh feel Cummins should have done better as a captain.

While Warne said Pat will have sleepless nights, Waugh highlighted declaration timings.

“He will have sleepless nights after failing to defeat England. Let’s not forget about the rain, missed run-out chance and a lot of dropped catches and if Australia would have converted those chances into wickets, result would have been different. Everyone is going to say you should have declared earlier,” Warne said on Fox Sports.

“He will think about not declaring on time. I think they batted too long. 340 was plenty and if they wanted to get to 380-400 they should have got there quicker,” said Mark Waugh.
