Overview:
After hitting five consecutive sixes in Yash Dayal's over in IPL 2-23, Rinku Singh became a household name.
Rinku Singh, who plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), opened up on a heartwarming gesture by the franchise co-owner, Shah Rukh Khan, after being non-selected for Team India. Rinku was not given a place in the main squad of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, and the batter had to travel to Mumbai for the visa, as he was a part of the reserve list. However, he was unwilling to go with Shah Rukh Khan due to his shyness.
“I was not selected in the main squad, and the team had already left. I had to visit Mumbai for a visa, and my flight was already booked. Either Sir or Pooja ma’am found out, and they said I should go with Sir. I was nervous as I was about to travel with the sir. I was thinking how I would handle myself, and I tried to refuse,” Rinku told RevSportz.
However, Shah Rukh Khan personally asked him to travel and encouraged the batter during the journey.
“I couldn’t say no when sir asked me. He gave me encouragement and explained me thing to me. For the first time, I sat in a charter flight and that too with sir. Those two hours were amazing and incredible,” he added.
