Veteran batsman SuryaKumar Yadav received his maiden national call-up on Saturday for the upcoming five-match T20I series between India and England. He has been in contention for a national call-up for a while now, courtesy of his brilliant performances with the bat in the Domestic circuit, as well as IPL.
SuryaKumar Yadav has been one of the vital cogs in Mumbai Indians’ success over the past two seasons. Reacting to his maiden Team India call-up, he took to Twitter on Sunday to share a picture of himself sitting in the middle of the pitch. Many former and current cricketers congratulated SuryaKumar for the same.
“The feeling is surreal,” Suryakumar captioned the post.
Apart from SuryaKumar, wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Rahul Tewatia also earned their maiden call-ups. Kishan, who is currently leading Jharkhand in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, slammed a brilliant knock of 173 runs off just 94 balls against Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.
Tewatia, on the other hand, had an impressive IPL 2020 for the Royals where he scored 255 runs and picked up 10 wickets in 14 matches for his side. In the bowling department, senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be making his comeback while Jasprit Bumrah has been rested.
