Ramiz Raja has threatened to boycott the 2023 World Cup in India if the Men in Blue don’t play the Asia Cup 2022 in Pakistan and the tournament is shifted out of the country.
Reacting to his statement, Indian Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said that India is the leading sports power in the world and no one can overlook the country.
Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has reacted to the statements, saying the remarks will always be different as two personalities can’t be on the same page.
“They will make different statements, like vanilla and chocolate ice creams. If one says he loves the vanilla flavor, the other will choose chocolate. At the end of the day, cricket is important,” he said.
Butt also talked about the importance of the matches between India and Pakistan.
“Fans want to see India playing in Pakistan and Pakistan going to India. The World Cup matches are very important for the fans and those who invest a lot of money. The two should play for the betterment of cricket and relationship.”
