The 4th day of the third and final Test between South Africa and Australia is underway at the SCG. The latter half of the 2nd day and the entire day 3 were impacted by rain.
Before the rain played a spoilsport, Australia were 475/4, and their star opener Usman Khawaja was batting on 195, his highest Test score.
The 36-year-old was left stranded on 195 and prayed to the rain gods for the play to resume and get his first double hundred. Much to his dismay, skipper Pat Cummins declared the innings when the play commenced on day 4, leaving everyone stunned, including Khawaja himself.
Interestingly, yesterday, Khawaja commented that it would be harsh if he is denied a double hundred. The fans also took to social media to troll Pat Cummins and question his decision.
Several users recalled the Rahul Dravid- Sachin Tendulkar 2004 Multan Test episode when then skipper Dravid declared the innings when Sachin was batting on 194.
The viewers called Cummins the new Rahul Dravid and heavily criticized him on social media.
Here are a few reactions.
