Rohit Sharma
There has been a massive development in Indian cricket as Rohit Sharma has replaced Virat Kohli as ODI captain.

On the eve of the first T20I between India and England, skipper Virat Kohli confirmed that veteran batsman Rohit Sharma will open the innings alongside KL Rahul.

While many expected Shikhar Dhawan to take up the benchwarmer’s role in the 1st T20I against the Three Lions, Kohli made an astonishing announcement at the toss on Friday that Rohit Sharma will miss the first two games.

India, however, after winning the toss, were reduced to 48/4 with 10 overs to play. Taking cognizance of Team India’s poor start, fans of the Indian team took to Twitter and made Rohit trend on the micro-blogging site.

Here’s how Twitter reacted:

Speaking at the toss, ahead of the first T20I, Virat Kohli said: “Probably would have bowled first as well. Dew is going to be a massive factor in the second half. Got to get into the game with the ball and restrict them.

“We were planning to do things like batting first in these conditions where bowling in the dew becomes a factor. It’s a good way to prepare for the World Cup. The next few months will be important from a team environment. Rohit is resting for the first couple of games,” he added.
