Former South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis on Sunday provided an update on his health after he injured himself while playing for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2021).
The veteran batsman ended up injuring himself on the field during the match in PSL 2021. He was taken to a hospital in Abu Dhabi soon after his tragic collision with Quetta Gladiators teammate Mohammad Hasnain.
“Thank you everyone for all the messages of support. I’m back at the hotel recovering. Have concussion with some memory loss but I will be fine. Hopefully be back on the field soon. Much love,” Faf du Plessis tweeted.
Earlier, Faf’s wife, Imari Visser, expressed concern for her husband after the 36-year-old ended up injuring himself. She stated that Faf should be treated in the hospital. Saim Ayub had replaced Faf during the match as a concussion substitute.
Notably, Gladiators had also used a concussion substitute in their previous match after star all-rounder Andre Russell was hit on the helmet by pacer Musa Khan. Naseem Shah had replaced Russell as a concussion substitute.
Coming back to the match, Gladiators lost the game by a 61-run margin after Peshawar Zalmi had posted a total of 197. The Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side are currently bottom of the points table with one win from 7 games.
