Pakistan’s Azam Khan, who is the son of legendary wicketkeeper-batter Moin Khan, has been in good form in the Pakistan Super League 2022. Representing Islamabad United, the 23-year-old has scored 256 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of 141.43 while batting in the middle order. Azam made his debut for Pakistan last year in England but was dropped after failing to impress. In 3 T20Is, he has scored 6 runs.
However, Khan has improved his performance and is hammering the bowlers in the PSL. Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has compared him with the Indian wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant.
Replying to a fan’s query on how he sees both youngsters, Butt said Azam could hit at a longer distance than the Men in Blue’s cricketer.
“Both are hitters. While Pant has a big range, Azam can hit a long way and has more strength and power,” said Butt on his official YouTube channel.
“Both are talented. Rishabh Pant has established himself in international cricket. Azam is yet to mae a mark at the highest level.”
The 24-year old has been rested from the ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka to manage his workload.
