Ahead of the 2nd semi-finals between India and England, Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar has made some bold predictions about the upcoming tie.
Before the knock-out round commenced, Akhtar had expressed his desire to see another India- Pakistan match and rooted for the Asian countries to beat New Zealand and England.
While Pakistan have done their part and defeated the Black Caps to become the first team to qualify for the finals, it is now up to Rohit Sharma and his men to do their part.
Although, just hours before the 2nd semi-finals, Akhtar has taken a U-turn on his earlier stand and wants the Three Lions to destroy India.
“I wanted a rematch between India and Pakistan. But I think history will repeat itself, and Pakistan will pull off a famous win similar to the 1992 World Cup.”
Notably, Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the semis and England in the finals of the 1992 World Cup.
“Like how Pakistan beat New Zealand to enter the finals, England will beat India to enter the finals. England’s batting second will destroy India. Then Pakistan will beat England and lift the World Cup.”
