England have been beaten in all the departments of the game in the ongoing Ashes 2021-2022. They haven’t been able to solve the problems impacting them from day one of the tour. From bowlers to batters, the visitors have been miserable against Australia.
After losing two consecutive matches, the fear of a whitewash is growing, and the former England cricketers have started raising their concerns. Joe Root, the skipper, has come under the scanner for ordinary captaincy and his recent statement against bowlers.
Michael Atherton, who has been a part of many Ashes campaign, recently spoke about Root, and the consequences he would face if England end up losing the most prestigious series.
“If the Ashes tour continues to go badly, it is hard to see how Joe Root will remain captain,” he told The Times.
