Pakistan will take on England in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Both teams are eyeing their second title in this format of the game. Pakistan had a dramatic campaign after losing to India and Zimbabwe.
They won three consecutive matches but needed a favour from the Netherlands, who thumped South Africa to clear Pakistan’s passage. The Men in Green defeated New Zealand in the semi-final.
On the other hand, England were stunned by Ireland but they managed to qualify for the semis on the basis of a superior run-rate than Australia. Their semi-final game against India was one-sided as Alex Hales and Jos Buttler took them to a comprehensive victory by 10 wickets.
However, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar feels it won’t be easy for England against the Babar Azam-led team.
“England ko pata hai ki yahan par Pakistan bowlers India bowling ki tarah nahi hai. Yahan kuch na kuch karke jeetna padega. Itni aasani se walkover nahi milega,” he said.
The legendary cricketer also talked about Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, who scored half-centuries against the Kiwis.
“Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are very important. They played with a good strike-rate against New Zealand. They will enjoy batting at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.”
