Dinesh Karthik was team’s top performer in the fourth T20I between India and South Africa. His knock of 55 runs played a key role in India’s win by 82 runs in Rajkot.
While it was a complete game for the hosts, captain Rishabh Pant once again disappointed with the bat.
Pant has registered scores of 29, 5, 6 and 17 so far. With Karthik’s emergence and the presence of Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, the situation is not looking good for the 24-year-old player.
Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has also slammed Pant, saying the team management should look at other options as well.
He proposed the name of Wriddhiman Saha, who was phenomenal for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. Kaneria wants to see Karthik or KS Bharat behind the sticks.
“There is no harm in going ahead with Wriddhiman Saha. Even KS Bharat and Dinesh Karthik are good. Pant is a good player but he is wasting his talent. If the selectors and the team management want to move on from Rishabh, they should inform him. That’s a possibility after the ongoing five-match series,” he added.
