Former India player Wasim Jaffer said Ishan Kishan should be added to the playing XI in place of KS Bharat for the fourth Test against Australia at the Narendra Modi stadium.
Jaffer admits that Bharat has failed with the bat, and Kishan’s strokeplay could put Australia on the back foot.
Bharat, who made his debut in Nagpur, has the highest score of 23 and has fallen to Nathan Lyon on three occasions.
“I think Ishan Kishan should replace KS Bharat because the wicket-batter has been disappointed. No doubt he is a good player but he hasn’t made a contribution in the series,” he said.
“He was unbeaten in one innings but had poor returns in the remaining. Even though the pitches have been challenging, you expect runs from a keeper batter.”
