India were eliminated from the ICC T20 World Cup after losing the semi-final to England by 10 wickets. The Men in Blue has not won an ICC title for 9 years and have been losing to rivals in big and important games.
Rohit’s childhood coach has urged the players to manage their workload. He took a dig at India’s captain.
Dinesh Lad feels the players shouldn’t miss international games to manage their workload; instead, they should skip the Indian Premier League contests.
Speaking to Sportskeeda, the Mumbai-based coach further lambasted the team for not showing stability because senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were rested from some of the international encounters.
“We are not a stable team. If we are preparing for the World Cup, it should be an established team. Somebody opened the innings in the last seven months, while somebody opened the bowling. There was no stability,” he said.
“Don’t talk about workload, as everybody in the world is playing a lot of cricket. Why are they playing in IPL? Don’t play in the IPL if you want to win the World Cup. They should play every international game, as you can’t skip them.”
