The final of the World Test Championship will be played on June 7. The Oval in London is ready to host India and Australia. Ajinkya Rahane was recalled to the side after his magnificent performances in domestic cricket and Indian Premier League.

He has a good track record in England and will have a task of scoring runs against the hostile pace battery of the Aussies. His Mumbai teammate Suryakumar Yadav is also associated with the team as a standby player.

Many former players feel India need a batter who can score quick runs to unsettle the rival bowlers. Ishan Kishan and SKY are the two batters in the side who can dominate bowlers in a short span of time.

However, former India player Dilip Vengsarkar is not in favour of this theory. He wants the team management to include Rahane in the Playing XI.

“I hope Rahane gets the nod ahead of Suryakumar Yadav. He is a good player, who has accumulated runs in England. He can adapt to the English conditions quickly,” he told the Hindustan Times.
