Aakash Chopra picked Kolkata Knight Riders as the winner of the Indian Premier League 2024 but also mentioned that Sunrisers Hyderabad have the capability to beat the rivals. KKR have defeated SRH in the last two games. Meanwhile, Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 36 runs in Qualifier 2 at the M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on May 24.
Aakash said that Hyderabad would give a tough fight to the two-time champions.
“It is going to be a good game between two strong teams. This contest will be enjoyable. Sunrisers will give a tough fight to Kolkata. Don’t be surprised if Hyderabad lift the title. KKR won the title at this ground in 2012 after defeating Chennai,” Aakash Chopra said.
Aakash also picked SRH’s Abhishek Sharma over Travis Head. “Abhishek Sharma has a chance to perform better than Travis Head. Mitchell Starc can trouble Head. I am going with Abhishek, who is batting well,” he added.
In 15 matches, Abhishek has scored 482 runs at a strike rate of 207.76. Aakash also predicted that SRH pacers will bowl well against KKR batters.
“Pat Cummins, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan are in good form.”
