Aakash Chopra feels Dinesh Karthik performing with the bat has put pressure on Rishabh Pant. Karthik scored a match-winning 55 in the fourth T20I against South Africa on Friday, June 17. On the other hand, Pant managed just 17 off 23 balls.

Chopra sounded a warning note for Pant. “Karthik scored runs in Cuttack and here as well. He is playing important knocks and is taking one-one step towards the World Cup, and the pressure will come on Rishabh Pant.”

The famous commentator explained why Pant is falling behind DK.

“He is the captain, and with his failures, the question arises, who will bat better down the order, and there are a lot of players to bat in the top four,” he said.

Pant has managed 57 runs at a poor average of 14.25 and a strike rate of 105.55 against the Proteas.

“Dinesh is special and has cricket left in him. He is the oldest Indian to score a fifty in T20Is.”
