Senior batter Virat Kohli is set to play his 100th Test when India take on Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series, starting March 4 in Mohali.

Aakash Chopra has stated that Virat Kohli’s decision to leave the Test captaincy has come as a bolt from the blue. The visitors, under Kohli, lost the recent Test series in South Africa. A day after the defeat, the then Indian captain revealed through social media that he would no longer be leading the side.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra termed this a shocking development. “He has Test captaincy. He has left T20 himself and the ODI was taken from him and now he has dropped a bombshell that he will no longer lead Test team,” said Aakash.

Aakash was not happy with the call. “To be honest, I didn’t feel he will Test captaincy and shouldn’t have done from my point of view. I am slightly disappointed and definitely shocked. He took the team from No.7 to No.1 ranking in the world,” he added.
