Hardik Pandya was Team India’s star in the batting department against England at the Adelaide Oval. The right-handed batter smashed 63 off 33 balls to take the Men in Blue to 168 in 20 overs.
However, his runs were not enough in the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup as openers Alex Hales and Jos Buttler took England to a 10-wicket win.
The shocking defeat stunned everyone including players. The bowlers failed to take even one wicket in the entire proceedings and India suffered a shameful ending to their World Cup campaign.
A devastated Hardik took to social media to express his feelings.
“Devastated, gutted, hurt. Tough to take, for all of us. To my teammates, I’ve enjoyed the bond that we built – we fought for each other every step of the way. Thank you to our support staff for their endless dedication and hardwork for months on end,” he wrote.
