Deepak Hooda was recently named in Team India’s squad for the ODI series against West Indies. He was a part of the team for the Nidahas Trophy 2018 but was not included in the Playing XI.
Deepak has a good chance of making his international debut in a three-match series against the Kieron Pollard-led team. The explosive hitter recently spoke about his equation with Pathan brothers – Yusuf and Irfan.
He used to ask Irfan about the reason behind his ignorance by the national selectors. The former all-rounder said that his time will come.
“I started doubting myself but Irfan bhai always believed in me,” said Deepak Hooda, while speaking to The Indian Express.
“I got close to Yusuf and Irfan bhai as they taught me to be calm. I was a restless as a youngster and it was hampering my game,” he added.
The 26-year-old was made to learn the importance of preparation and process by Irfan Pathan.
“I remember Irfan bhai telling me the importance of preparation and process and it finally paid off.”
