Shastri's comments are sure to raise eyebrows.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Deepak Chahar said there is no confirmation that MS Dhoni will retire after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Last year, Dhoni had expressed his desire to return to the Chepauk to play in the tournament.

Dhoni has been a part of a Chennai-based franchise for 13 years. “No one said that this would be his last IPL season. We don’t want him to retire and continue to play for us,” Chahar said to News India.

Deepak said Dhoni doesn’t need to be told when to retire from the game. The speedster also mentioned that he is lucky to play under Dhoni’s captaincy. MSD has led CSK to four IPL titles.

Dhoni is preparing for the upcoming season, and CSK will take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in the tournament’s opening game at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
