It is not easy to represent India in international cricket. Even a triple hundred in Test cricket doesn’t guarantee a permanent place in the sub-continent team. Dejected and heartbroken Karun Nair is the perfect example.

The Karnataka-based batter became a national sensation when he hit 303 off 381 balls in India’s first innings of the fifth and final Test against England in 2016.

However, he was discarded after 6 Test matches. Karun’s run in ODIs ended after 2 games.

Nair played his last Test in 2017, while his last appearance in a 50-over game came in 2016.

The 31-year-old has featured regularly for Karnataka in Ranji Trophy, but hasn’t played list A matches since 2021.

Nair has also failed to cement his place in the Indian Premier League. He last played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022 but was released by the franchise ahead of the upcoming auction in December.

He took to social media to express his emotions.

“Dear cricket, give me one more chance,” he wrote.

Karun’s well wishers reacted to his recent tweet.
