Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women’s Premier League 2026.
Toss Decision – Captain’s Comments & Reasoning
“We will bowl first. The ball skids a lot under the lights, and the dew will impact the game. The wicket looks good and fresh, and the ball will come nicely onto the bat, but it will keep low. The youngsters are bringing in a lot of energy,” Jemimah Rodrigues said.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Smriti Mandhana would have bowled first as well, but she is happy after losing, considering the challenge will test her players.
“We were looking to bowl first as well. It is a lot windy today, and the dew will be less. It is good to bat first as this is what God wants,” she said.
She wants to win the game against DC to register sixth consecutive win and qualify for the final.
“Playing the final straightaway without the pressure of the eliminator is a good thing,” she added.
