Australian opener David Warner has decided to return to Australia to attend the funeral service of Shane Warne at the MCG. He had a poster of Warne on his wall when he was a kid.

The left-handed batter said Shane was the player he wanted to be as a boy. David, who Delhi Capitals bought for IPL 2022, is likely to miss the start of the tournament considering his plan of attending the funeral of the departed soul.

Warner, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Josh Hazlewood are not part of the limited-overs series in Pakistan.

The last and final Test is scheduled to finish on March 25. Warne will be honored with a state funeral on March 30 at the world-famous stadium.
