Daren Sammy, the two-time T20 World Cup champion, has given his verdict on the Rohit Sharma and the Indian cricket. Rohit is expected to become India’s new Test skipper after Virat Kohli’s resignation. The 34-year old is already team’s limited-overs captain.
Speaking to PTI, Sammy highlighted Sharma’s captaincy record for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. The veteran also opined on the Indian cricket after mediocre performance in South Africa. The visitors lost the Test and ODI series 1-2 and 0-3, respectively.
However, Daren is not worried about cricket in the sub-continent country. “Rohit Sharma has been an excellent captain, a good motivational leader. I’ve watched him captaining Mumbai in the IPL. I’m not worried about Indian cricket. It’s in good hand,” he said.
The 34-year old will lead India in the upcoming white-ball series against the visiting West Indies team. The Men in Blue are scheduled to take on the Kieron Pollard-led team in a three-match ODI series and as many T20Is.
