Danish Kaneria said Virat Kohli would have to practice against quality left-arm fast bowlers as he will have to face Australia’s Mitchell Starc in the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
Starc dismissed the 34-year-old in the first ODI of the three-match series at the Wankhede Stadium. Kaneria feels the left-arm seamer’s inswinger has undone Kohli on several occasions.
The 42-year-old suggested the team management to include T Natarajan as a net bowler to help Kohli work on his biggest weakness.
“Virat Kohli is uncomfortable against left-arm seamers when the ball comes in. He must practice facing Starc ahead of the World Test Championship Final in England. The team management should bring in someone like T Natarajan as a net bowler.”
Kohli scored 4 runs in the opening game against the Steve Smith-led team.
While Kaneria pointed out Virat’s performance against Starc, the stats say otherwise. The Indian batter was dismissed for the first against the lanky pacer in the Mumbai ODI.
