Australia all-rounder Dan Christian, who was roped in by the Bangalore-based franchise in the IPL 2021 auction last month, is confident of RCB’s maiden title win in the upcoming tournament. Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired the service of the 37-year-old cricketer for a sum of Rs 4.80 crore.

Despite having several big players in the team, the Virat Kohli-led side hasn’t won any IPL trophy since the inception of the league in 2008.

However, Christian feels that the current RCB squad is capable of lifting the IPL title this year.

We’re going to win it this year; as a team, we are probably due to winning one, and hopefully, I can help to get over the line. It will be brilliant to bat with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. Glenn Maxwell in there as well, a good mate of mine from Australia. We’ve played good cricket together,” Christian said in a live session on Instagram.

Furthermore, the Aussie said that he is looking to play under the captaincy of Virat Kohli in the 14th edition.

I am really looking forward to it, and hopefully, we go really well as a team,” he added.

IPL 2021 is all set to kick-off from April 9 with the opening encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore and defending champions Mumbai Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
