Umran Malik continues to hogg the limelight despite not getting a chance in the five-match T20I series against South Africa.

Umran Malik is having the time of his life. He justified his price tag by taking 22 wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Umran took the tournament by storm and was rewarded with a spot in the Indian side for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.

The credit for the improvement in Umran’s bowling also goes to SRH’s fast bowling coach Dale Steyn. Steyn, known for troubling batters with his pace, saw an exciting prospect in the 22-year-old bowler.

The former South African pacer shares a great bond with Umran, and the latter shared what Steyn told him after his selection in Team India. Steyn had predicted his call-up before anyone else did.

“When I got selected for India, Dale sir (Steyn) was with me on the team bus. We were going for the match. Everyone congratulated me, and Dale sir said, “I told you before the IPL that you will get the India call-up after the season. And that’s exactly what happened, by the grace of God. So my goal is to give my best for Team India now.”

The pacer also opened up about his conversation with Indian head coach Rahul Dravid and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.

“Rahul Dravid is a legend of the game. He just told me to keep continuing what I do. Paras Mhambrey also guided me after every ball. Their conversation gave me confidence.”
