Wasim Jaffer feels that the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lack death bowlers after the IPL 2023 auction. The legendary batter said New Zealand speedster Kyle Jamieson is the only quality pacer who can contain runs in the last overs.
Jaffer further highlighted that there would be a selection issue while picking their fourth overseas player between Jamieson, Dwaine Pretorious and Maheesh Theekshana.
“They will have a problem while defending totals, which was the issue last year as well. Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes and Devon Conway are the sure shot starters. Only Kyle Jamieson can bowl in the death overs,” he said.
“Pretorious, Theekshana and Jamieson will battle for one spot and it is going to be a tricky one. That’s goona create problem for the team,” he added.
Former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Tom Moody also questioned the bowling of the four-time champions.
