Sarfaraz Khan won the Player of the Tournament trophy in the Ranji 2022 season, after accumulating 982 runs from six matches. He spoke about his journey. After receiving the award, he thanked his father for his contributions.
“Credit to my father, who is standing there. I am trying to give my best for the team. I try to play as many matches as possible.”
The right-handed batter scored a century in the first innings of the game to save Mumbai from humiliation.
“You know about my journey. My father deserves all the credit. He used to travel with me in trains. I wanted to score a century in Ranji Trophy, which was fulfilled,” he said.
“Then I had a dream of scoring a ton in a Ranji final when my team needed it the most. That is why I got emotional after my century and had tears in my eyes, because my father has worked hard for my success.”
Sarfaraz revealed the amount of hard work he had put in for improving his game.
“I would play 600-700 balls every day at Cross Maidan and at home. For T20s, I used to hit the ball in the sets while I would focus on leaving the ball for red-ball cricket.”
