Ravi Shastri stated that the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) would provide an excellent opportunity for the selectors to find India's new white-ball captain.

The ‘Conflict of Interest’ has impacted big players like Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. It occurs when an individual’s personal interests have a possible impact on his or her actions at the professional front. Speaking on the issue, Ravi Shastri said current and former cricketers face a lot of problems due to the matter.

He slammed those dragging BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) to courts on the issue of Conflict of Interest.

“It is over the top this conflict of interest. I was not really for it. A masseur with the Indian team cannot work with an IPL team. Conflict of interest is absolute nonsense. It should be thrown into the bin. For me to not be allowed to do commentary if I am India coach, how is that conflict of interest?” Shastri said to Indian Express’ Express E Adda.
