Gujarat Titans will kick off their IPL 2026 campaign against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on March 31, before heading to Ahmedabad for their home opener on April 4 against Rajasthan Royals.
Gujarat Titans have laid out their clear vision for IPL 2026, with Head Coach Ashish Nehra emphasising that the team remains focused on competing and securing victories.
At the “Shubharambh 2026” event, which saw the entire squad, franchise owners, partners, and fans come together, Nehra highlighted that the team’s approach will stay the same, with no major changes in their style of play.
“I don’t believe there’s a need for a different approach this season. Honestly, I don’t need to think about it – the players do. They need to think and perform, I’ll be sitting on the sidelines,” he said, emphasising the trust the team has in its players and their ability to make decisions.
Reaffirming the team’s mentality, Nehra said, “From the very beginning, our focus has been clear: we’re not here just to take part, we’re here to compete and win. For a new team, it’s tempting to think success will take time, but that was never our mindset.”
Gujarat Titans have established themselves as a dominant force in the IPL since 2022, securing playoff spots in three out of their first four seasons and winning the title in their first attempt.
“You’re talking about a captain who has been with the team since day one and has witnessed the entire journey. I don’t think we’re aiming to change anything this season,” Nehra mentioned.
“Shubharambh 2026” marked both the official launch of the new season and a chance to reflect on the franchise’s five-year journey. The event showcased the team’s core values of unity, ambition, and their Gujarat-first mentality, while also celebrating their strong connection with fans and the state.
