Ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League, three-time champions Chennai Super Kings suffered a major setback as their star pacer Josh Hazlewood pulled out of the tournament due to challenging bio-bubble life.
The Australian fast bowler has asserted that he has been part of the bio-secure environment for the past 10 months and now he would like to take some time off from the game.
“It’s been long 10 months in bubbles and quarantine at different times, so I have decided to take a rest from cricket and spend some time at home and in Australia in the next two months,” Hazlewood told cricket.com.au
While many might wonder, why Pujara has been trending after Hazlewood’s decision to pull out of IPL 2021, those who have watched the last two editions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will certainly know the reason.
Pujara, who has been a mainstay of India’s Test batting line-up, is known for frustrating the Aussie bowlers with his ability to bat for long.
The 30-year-old himself admitted that he would not hesitate from ‘Mankading’ Pujara if given a chance after the right-handed batsman made Aussies toil hard for his wicket in the 2018-19 Test series.
Here’s see how fans showcased the funny side of the Pujara-Hazlewood connection
