Cheteshwar Pujara bailed out Team India from a tricky situation but failed to break his century drought of more than three years. He was dismissed after scoring 90 runs.
India were three down with not even 50 on the board when Rishabh Pant joined Pujara. The two added 64 runs before the southpaw was dismissed after scoring 46 off 45 balls, laced with 6 fours and 2 sixes.
Shreyas Iyer and Pujara then stitched an important partnership of more than 150 runs to take the visitors to a strong position.
Earlier, KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bat first. Shubman Gill departed after scoring 20. Virat Kohli didn’t stay for long and managed just 1 run. Taijul Islam dismissed the two. Captain Rahul contributed just 22 to the team score.
