Saurashtra pacer Chetan Sakariya will represent Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Sakariya, who played for Rajasthan Royals in the 14th season, was bought by the Rishabh Pant-led team for INR 4.2 crore at the mega auction.

He went on to play both T20Is and ODIs for Team India during the tour of Sri Lanka in July with the Shikhar Dhawan-led side when India’s main team was in England.

Chetan took 14 wickets in as many IPL games, which included the prized wicket of Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni. Recalling the special memory while talking to cricket.com, he said – “Dismissing MS Dhoni was special as he is a legend of the game. It was a nice feeling.”

He wanted to target AB de Villiers in the upcoming season but since he has retired, the young pacer will go after Virat Kohli.

“It is not easy to bowl to AB de Villiers as he can hit you any where. Since he has retired from cricket, I will target Virat Bhai in IPL 2022,” he added.

He will form a deadly pace unit along with Khaleel Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Anrich Nortje, Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Lungi Ngidi.

The Capitals will start their campaign against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium on March 27.
