Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina received an honorary doctorate from Chennai’s Vels University. The Chennai-based university felicitated former India player in a convocation held at the college.
Raina took to social media to post images of the ceremony. Raina said he was humbled to receive the honor and spoke about his love for the city.
“I am humbled to recieve the honor from VELS Institute of Science & Technology & Advanced Studies @VelsVistas @IshariKGanesh, Sir. I am moved by the gesture and thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. Chennai is home, and it has a special place in my heart,” wrote Raina.
The southpaw represented India in 18 Test matches, 226 ODIs, and 78 T20Is. Raina played for Chennai Super Kings for years in the Indian Premier League.
