Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar have left Team India after the end of their contracts. The trio was given the contracts till the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, and with Shastri deciding against seeking an extension, their long association with India is over.

Jasprit Bumrah, who carved a niche for himself under their watch, took to Twitter to thank them for the contributions they made to make him a better bowler.

“For the words of support, motivation and encouragement. For the guidance and the tireless work behind the scenes. For being a constant source of learning and counsel. Thank you for your invaluable contribution and good luck for your future endeavours,” he wrote.

While India performed exceptionally well in the bilateral series under Shastri’s coaching, the team failed to win an ICC tournament.

Even the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup was a disappointing one for the Men in Blue as they couldn’t qualify for the semi-finals. India were thumped by Pakistan and New Zealand in the first two matches of the tournament, which ended their hopes of making it to the knockouts.
