Dwayne Bravo has opened up on his relationship with MS Dhoni, reflecting on his time at the Chennai Super Kings. The former West Indies all-rounder called Dhoni a brother from another mother, highlighting how the veteran Indian cricketer helped players focus on their strengths.

Bravo explained how Dhoni’s leadership was simple. Recalling his CSK days on the ‘Beard Before Wicket’ podcast, Bravo revealed that Dhoni used to back him.

“He didn’t allow me to dive in the field once, saying that my four overs were more important than four runs,” he said.

“After that, I was placed in the circle. He knows what you are good at and does not want you to try something else,” he added.

Bravo described a moment when Dhoni’s trust in his abilities became clear.

“He asked me about my field in the first over, and when I informed him what I wanted, he never told me about field placement again. He trusted me, and we started calling each other another brother from a different mother,” he mentioned.

Bravo also hailed Dhoni and head coach Stephen Fleming for giving the players the freedom to express themselves. “They don’t change whether you perform or not. They are consistent with how they behave with players.”
