Shane Warne has passed away due to suspected heart attack. He was 52 years of age. Warner’s management issues a statement that he passed away in Koh Samui, Thailand.
“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” the statement reads.
“The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
This is the second blow for Australia within 24 hours with fellow great, Rod Marsh, also dying on Friday having suffered a major heart attack.
He was regarded as one of the best spinners in history of cricket. Known has Warnie, he took 708 Test wickets and was only behind Muttiah Muralitharan.
