Despite having a competitive squad, the Men in Blue failed to make it to the knockouts of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE.

To improve their performance, the management is trying different combinations and is taking calls on the workload management of the players.

Stating that bouncy tracks in Australia could become problematic for the Rohit Sharma-led team, Hogg said:

“It is going to be very difficult to defeat India at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Depends on the wickets India will play on because that might define their display in Australia. It could be a key factor if they end up playing more on the bouncy wickets and the nature of the opposition. It is the only thing that could stop India from winning the global event.”

“Other than that, I think they have the team to beat any rival in Australia,” he concluded.

Australia will host the T20 World Cup later this year, for the first time since the tournament’s inception in 2007.

The nation was given the hosting rights of the event in 2020, but the outbreak of the COVID-19 changed everything.
